Z 97.5 ‘Last Band Standing’ Contest Rules
Beginning at 7pm on Monday, February 10, 2014 through 11:59PM on Sunday, March 23, 2014, bands may enter the Last Band Standing Contest. With this, the 1st place band will win $1,000, and the 2nd place band will win $500. Semi-finalists and finalists will compete on the Strawberry Alley Stage at the 2014 Rivers & Spires Festival which takes place April 24, 2014 through April 26, 2014. The contest is open to those who hold a valid article of state identification or Military I.D. and are 18 years of age or older.
ALL MEMBERS OF THE BAND MUST BE 18 OR OLDER. Previous winning bands of Last Band Standing may not enter.
HOW TO ENTER:
Bands will be able to enter the contest by submitting an audio demo to WZZP. Demos will be accepted from Monday, February 10, 2014 through 11:59PM on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Audio demos may be submitted by completing the necessary registration process and uploading an audio file on the Z 97.5 website (www.z975.com). Audio demos may also be submitted by mail. ALL CD DEMOS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 4:59PM ON Friday, March 21, 2014.

SEMI-FINALISTS SELECTION:
On Monday, March 24, 2014, a committee of WZZP representatives will review all of the submissions following the solicitation period. A panel of no less than 5 judges will determine which 8 entrants will be invited to perform in the semi-finals at the Rivers & Spires Festival.
Scoring for submissions will be based on the following criteria: originality, musicality, vocal ability and relatability to WZZP. Judges will score entrants on a scale of 1-10 for each category with 10 being the most favorable score and 1 being least favorable. Once all scores are recorded for each band in each category, a cumulative score for each will be determined. The 8 bands that rank the highest based on cumulative score will be invited to perform in the semi-finals at the Rivers & Spires Festival.
SEMI-FINALS:
This will consist of 8 bands performing and competing at the Rivers & Spires Festival in Clarksville. Each band will perform a 30 minute set. Four bands will perform and compete on Thursday, April 24, and the remaining four will perform and compete on Friday, April 25. From those that compete on Thursday, April 24, one band will be selected as a finalist, and from those that compete on Friday, April 25, one band will be selected as a finalist. The 2 bands named as finalists will be invited to perform and compete against one another in the finals to take place on Saturday, April 26 at the Rivers & Spires Festival.
SEMI-FINALS SCORING: A panel of 3 judges will view the semi-finalists performances to determine which 2 bands will be named finalists. Bands performing in the semi-finals will be judged on the following criteria: stage presence, originality, vocal ability and musicality. Judges will score entries on a scale of 1-10 for each category with 10 being the most favorable score and 1 being least favorable. Once all scores are recorded for each band in each category, a cumulative score for each will be determined. From the bands that perform on Thursday, April 24, the band with the highest cumulative score will be named a finalist, and from the bands that perform on Friday, April 25, the band with the highest cumulative score will be named a finalist. The finalists will be invited to compete on Saturday, April 26 at the Rivers & Spires Festival.
FINALS:
This will consist of 2 bands competing on Saturday, April 26 at the Rivers & Spires Festival. Each band will perform a 45 minute set. Lineup to be determined via random drawing.
FINALS SCORING: A panel of 3 judges will view the finalists performances to determine which band will be named the grand prize winner. Bands performing in the finals will be judged on the following criteria: stage presence, originality, vocal ability and musicality. Judges will score entries on a scale of 1-10 for each category with 10 being the most favorable score and 1 being least favorable. Once all scores are recorded for each band in each category, a cumulative score for each will be determined. The band with the highest cumulative score will be named a winner and receive $1,000. The band with the second highest cumulative score will win $500.

You must be 18 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If Saga - Clarksville/WEGI & WZZP cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.
Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified.
Saga - Clarksville/WEGI & WZZP reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
Saga - Clarksville/WEGI & WZZP reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.
Employees of Saga - Clarksville/WEGI & WZZP, its respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant to Saga - Clarksville/WEGI & WZZP the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
Saga - Clarksville/WEGI & WZZP reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.

All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
